Employer sponsored retirement plans are a great way to attract and maintain high quality employees while also helping them plan and prepare for retirement.
401(k) plans have unique characteristics that allow participants to individually guide their retirement plan, while also helping sponsors reduce the long-term fiduciary liabilities traditionally associated with retirement plans. For these reasons and others, 401(k) plans have become popular among small and large businesses alike.
HighDesert Advisors is committed to developing and maintaining 401(k) plans that are unique to a company’s specific needs. Rather than offering a generic product we work with you to design and implement a plan based on the company’s demographics, culture and other particular needs. For more information, contact Andrew Gatewood by phone (505-450-9394) or email.

Additionally, separating the tasks associated with maintaining a 401(k) plan provides a high degree of cost transparency. Below is a brief breakdown of the services that each provider performs:
Sponsor Services | Meeting Your Fiduciary Responsibilities

It is important for each employee to understand that retirement planning is more than just having a retirement plan. The 401(k) structure puts almost all contribution scheduling and investment risk, on the participant, and without appropriate investment advice, many retirement plans will fail to meet the needs of individual participants. While enrolling in an employer-sponsored plan is a crucial first step, a plan participant must be knowledgeable, contribute regularly, and actively manage their retirement investment accounts.
As The Investment Advisor, HighDesert representatives assist in all of these areas: investment education, contribution scheduling, and choosing the right investments. We focus on identifying the unique needs of each individual participant and structuring advice for his/her particular circumstances. Further, we can assist in Retirement Cash Flow Analysis and Estate Planning. Our goal is to help every participant, to plan and prepare for retirement, not to just enroll in a plan.
